Despite significant advancements in the field of digital technologies, the design process and spatial experience in Iranian architecture remain dependent on traditional methods and passive representations (such as plans and 2D renders). To this end, leveraging Virtual Reality (VR) technology can lead to the enhancement of interaction between the user and space and the design of desirable architectural spaces. In this regard, the present research has been written with the aim of developing an accessibility model for interactive architecture in Iran, emphasizing Virtual Reality technology. The research method in this study is mixed (quantitative-qualitative) with an applied purpose and an analytical-explanatory nature. In order to analyze the data, have been used the partial least squares model in Warp-PLS software and the qualitative approach of grounded theory. The findings of the research show that the most effective factors in the formation of interactive architecture based on VR technology in Iran include technical and knowledge infrastructures, simulation quality, VR usability, cultural compatibility, and the level of user participation in the design process; such that the structural model coefficients obtained for these components were calculated as 0.710, 0.650, 0.611, 0.583, and 0.562, respectively. Additionally, the extracted final model is based on the paradigm of “transitioning from static display to data-driven interactive experience.” A paradigm in which the geometric data and information of Building Information Modeling (BIM) are moved from the state of intangible codes and, through interactive interfaces (VR), are transformed into sensory and participatory experiences.
