With growing global concern over climate change, assessing energy consumption and pollutant emissions in the agricultural sector has become increasingly important. This study aimed to evaluate the energy consumption pattern and estimate the environmental impacts of table grape production in West Azerbaijan Province during 1404 (2025). Data were collected through random sampling and completion of 50 questionnaires by educated grape growers. Energy calculations were performed based on input–output analysis using energy equivalent coefficients. The results showed that total energy consumption for grape production was 78,840 MJ ha⁻¹. NPK fertilizers accounted for the largest share of energy use (35%), followed by fuels (30%). The energy ratio was estimated at 2.31, energy productivity at 0.2 kg MJ⁻¹, and net energy gain at 102,980 MJ ha⁻¹. Analysis of energy inputs indicated that direct and indirect energies accounted for 19.2% and 80.8% of total energy consumption, respectively. Renewable and non-renewable energies contributed 9.6% and 90.4% of total energy use. Overall, the results suggest that larger and more mechanized orchards are more efficient in terms of energy use, production costs, and environmental performance. To reduce fuel consumption and the use of fertilizers and pesticides, the adoption of high-efficiency machinery, consolidation of field operations, installation of solar panels on cold storage facilities, use of organic fertilizers and compost, crop diversification, timely pruning, and application of biological pesticides are recommended.
