In order to investigate the effect of foliar application of the proline and glycine amino acids on the stress tolerance indices of greenhouse cucumber, a factorial experiment was designed in a completely randomized design and conducted at Shahrekord Agricultural faculty in 2023. The experimental factors included proline foliar application at two levels (control and 75 mgL-1), glycine at two levels (control and 75 mgL-1), and irrigation water salinity caused by NaCl at four levels (0, 40, 80, and 120 mM). After applying salinity stress, height, leaf area, root and shoot dry weight, total chlorophyll, relative leaf water content, electrolyte leakage, and root and shoot sodium concentration were measured. The results illustrated that under salt stress, the growth parameters of cucumber plants such as leaf area and dry weight of roots and shoots decreased. On the other hand, the use of proline and glycine improved root dry weight in the control and 40 mM salinity treatments. Also, shoot dry weight of the plants sprayed with glycine was more than the plants that not sprayed. Leaf area, plant height, and root length of the plants that sprayed with glycine were more than the plants sprayed with proline. The RWC of plants sprayed with proline was higher than control. As well as Plants treated with proline and glycine had lower electrolyte leakage. By increasing of salinity intensity, the Na concentration of roots and shoots increased. In general, foliar application of proline and glycine improved the growth of cucumber plants compared to untreated plants.
