English

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of seed priming technology on biochemical changes in sesame seedlings at Jiroft University. The experiment was conducted as a three-factor factorial in a completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was sesame genotypes:Halil and J1genotypes,the second factor was seed priming with calcium chloride salt at-2bar, hydropriming and no priming, and the third factor was drought stress with PEG6000 at three levels of 0,-2,and-4 bar.The results showed that in both genotypes, with increasing drought stress, the amount of proline and soluble sugar increased, Under drought stress conditions, the effect of osmopriming on the increase of proline and its accumulation in seedlings was significantly greater than that of the no-stress treatment.Soluble sugar in seedlings obtained from osmopriming and hydropriming was significantly higher than seedlings obtained from unprimed seeds. On the other hand, the difference in soluble sugar concentration in osmopriming treatment compared to unprimed seeds was2.5times greater than in hydropriming treatment compared to unprimed seeds. Also, according to the results, the response of the two genotypes to stress conditions and seed priming was different. The amount of soluble sugar in the Halil cultivar(0.377)was significantly higher than that in the J1genotype(0.264).In both genotypes, hydropriming had no significant effect on potassium concentration, but osmopriming significantly increased potassium in both genotypes.Seedling calcium concentration in the unprimed treatment was significantly reduced compared to the control at both2-bar and 4-bar drought stress levels. while a decrease in calcium concentration under the influence of priming treatments was observed only under4-bar drought stress conditions.
