Objective: The current study aims to investigate the improvement of teachers' organizational performance in the light of virtuous leadership with the mediating role of spirituality at work. The research approach is quantitative and descriptive-correlational.
Methodology: The statistical population of the study included teachers in Kermanshah in the academic year 2022-2023. A sample size of 312 individuals was selected using stratified random sampling. The research instruments included the Wang and Hecht Virtuous Leadership Questionnaire, the Kingerski and Scrippneck Spirituality at Work Questionnaire, and the Hersey and Goldsmith Organizational Performance Questionnaire. The face and content validity of the questionnaires were confirmed by university professors. To analyze the data, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Pearson correlation, and path analysis were used with SPSS and PLS software.
Findings: The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between the virtuous leadership style of managers and spirituality at work. Moreover, the mediating variable of spirituality at work has a significant effect on the relationship between virtuous leadership style and teachers' organizational performance. It can be said that virtuous leadership does not have a direct and significant effect on teachers' organizational performance in the final research model. However, virtuous leadership, through spirituality at work, affects teachers' organizational performance.
Results: Awareness of the results of this study enables managers and teachers to improve performance in schools by paying attention to spirituality in the workplace.
