English

KTiOPO4(KTP) nanoparticles were synthesized by the co-precipitation method. Different mole ratios (1:1, 3:2, 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1) of formic acid as a capping agent were used to control nanoparticle size, size distribution, and surface functionalization. The effect of formic acid concentration on structural properties, grain size, and structural quality of obtained nanoparticles was examined using XRD and FT-IR analyses. The smallest grain size (48nm) and the lowest lattice strain (0.0015) were obtained using the 4:1 mole ratio of formic acid. 1:1 and 2:1 mole ratios of the capping agent showed the lowest impurity absorption. The highest impurity absorption was observed at obtained nanoparticles using a 4:1 mole ratio of formic acid. Increasing the formic acid concentration by up to a 3:1 mole ratio resulted in the formation of two phases of production (KTP nanoparticles and ). Using formic acid resulted in the surface functionalization of obtained KTP nanoparticles by hydroxyl and carboxyl groups.  The particle size of samples and their poly dispersion index (PDI) were studied using SEM. Using formic acid resulted in to increase in the particle size and uniformity of size distribution. The best uniformity of size distribution (1/10), and the smallest particle size(156nm) were observed using a 2:1 mole ratio of formic acid.
