Strategic analysis of revenue generation components in the education industry with a mixed approach

Abstract
Dependence on a single source of funding can cause financial instability at the level of public universities. Because of strategic management in educational institutions needs to focus on attracting independent income sources. Therefore, diversifying the financial resources of universities can lead to increased competitiveness at the national and international levels. Therefore, the main purpose of study is to strategically analyze the components of revenue generation in the education industry. This research is mixed method. The content analysis method along with the best-worst method was used to identify and prioritize the components of revenue generation in the National University of Skills. The statistical population of study in the qualitative and quantitative phases is the vice-chancellors of the National University of Skills. Purposive sampling was used in the quantitative and qualitative sections. The number of sample members in both sections is 25. In this study, qualitative data was collected using an open interview tool and analyzed using a content analysis approach, and quantitative data was collected using a paired comparison questionnaire and analyzed by using the best-worst method and Lingo software. The findings showed that the revenue generation components include 12components, among which the component of selling knowledge with a weight of 0.206 is in first priority, the component of producing and selling digital educational content with a weight of 0.121 is in second place, and finally, receiving public and government funding with a weight of0.02 is in the last priority of the revenue generation components in the National University of Skills.
