Identifying factors affecting smart R&D management with an agile approach in the petrochemical industry using the Fuzzy Delphi method

Abstract
Research and development is a vital component of society that plays a significant role in strengthening innovation, progress, and advancing the quality level of products and services in various fields.

Objective: The aim of this study is to identify key factors on smart research and development management based on the study of agility in the Iranian petrochemical industry.

Method: In terms of applied purpose, it is descriptive-survey research in terms of nature and qualitative-quantitative research in terms of study. The experts in the qualitative section are 30 experts on the subject of the study who were purposefully selected as a sample. The fuzzy Delphi method was used to identify factors and the fuzzy DEMETEL method was used to identify influences and influence.

Findings: Antecedents and consequences have been identified from the background and interviews in the qualitative section in the form of 16 factors.

Conclusion: Based on the research results, technological knowledge, continuous feedback loops, and R&D management are very important antecedents of smart R&D management with an agile approach, while technological intelligence, strategic intelligence, and faster adaptation tools are among the consequences
