Abstract
The aim of the present study was to compare the role of university education in promoting entrepreneurship, self-efficacy, and Factors driving employment of a skill-oriented university with those of a knowledge-oriented university. The tech-nical and vocational university and Kurdistan University were selected as representatives of the skill-oriented and knowledge-oriented institutions, respectively. The research design was quantitative and causal-comparative. The statisti-cal population consisted of all graduates from 2016 to 2021 (Electrical and Computer Department) of both universities, totaling 1043 individuals, from which 281 participants were selected using stratified random sampling method and Karjesi and Morgan's table. Research tools included questionnaires on entrepreneurial spirit, general self-efficacy, and factors promoting employment. Multivariate analysis of variance was employed for data analysis. The results revealed no signifi-cant difference in entrepreneurship scores and its components between the two groups. However, progress motivation scores were higher among graduates of the technical and vocational university. Additionally, significant differences were observed in self-efficacy scores and educational/occupational components between the two groups. Graduates from the technical and vocational university exhibited higher overall self-efficacy and educational/occupational components. Nevertheless, no significant difference was found in social self-efficacy. Furthermore, significant differences were noted in employment creation scores and its components between the two groups, with graduates from the technical and vocational university showing higher levels. These findings indicate the significant role of education in skill-oriented universities in enhancing self-efficacy and job creation among graduates.
