Abstract

Green walls can reduce the heat losses of buildings and reduce the use of air conditioning systems and thus reduce energy consumption in buildings; Therefore, it seems necessary to use this method to reduce the use of fossil fuels. The main goal of this research is to evaluate the thermal performance of double-layer green walls in order to achieve the maximum annual thermal load reduction in a typical commercial office building in Tehran using DesignBuilder software. According to its nature, the method of this research is simulation and with the approach of case study and analysis and in terms of type, it is practical. In this research, for the first time compared to previous researches, it is clear that in a typical commercial office building in Tehran, if two internal and external green walls are used at the same time, compared to one external green wall on the west front of the building, the witness is 13.3 The percentage of annual thermal load reduction compared to the research of previous researchers is that this amount of energy consumption reduction gap has not been considered in any research in the world and it has been proposed for the first time in this research. Also, in this research, it shows that the geographical front of the west has better thermal performance with distances of 30 and 20 cm for the external and internal green walls, respectively.
