Abstract

The aim of the current research is to conceptualize and present the definition of professional qualification. Most internal studies consider the terms professional qualification and professional competence to be equivalent and sometimes the same. Few domestic studies have focused on the conceptualization of professional qualification. Also, for many supervisors and managers of organizations, the concept of these two terms is not well defined and they make a wrong assessment about these two so that most human resource managers do not distinguish between these two topics and use these two terms interchangeably. For this purpose, in this research, a fundamental definition of professional qualification is provided by conducting a systematic review. In order to identify and extract articles, a systematic search was conducted in two internal databases, including Mag Iran and Normagz, and two foreign databases, including Scopus (Elsevier) and the Institute of Information Sciences, Scientific Network (Thomson Reuters), limited became. Then, studies related to professional qualification from 1383 (2005) to 1402 (2023) were systematically extracted and refined. In total, the studies related to professional qualification included 134 articles, of which 107 articles were excluded due to not being related to the purpose of the present study. In this regard, along with the systematic review in scientific studies, the definition of professional qualification in different countries was also considered. Finally, after discussion and review, the definition of professional qualification was extracted based on 16 articles, all of which were published in the most prestigious domestic and international journals.
