Abstract

Service compensation or whatever a person receives from the organization in return for his services is an effective factor in performance management, motivation, and determination of employee retention patterns in the organization and is considered one of the effective levers in their control. Due to the variety of duties and working conditions, service compensation is one of the key elements in urban management. This research, to identify the dimensions and components and factors affecting the compensation of municipal employees, tries to answer the question that what are the dimensions of the compensation system of municipal employees and the factors affecting it? The research method is practical in terms of the nature of the subject and the set goals, and qualitative and exploratory in terms of the implementation method. The studied population, the employees of the country's municipalities, and the sample size in this section were selected from the target population after theoretical saturation of 15 people using the purposeful sampling method with the snowball technique. To collect data, semi-structured interviews and content analysis (interviews), coding (open, central, and selective coding) were used. The results of the research showed that the dimensions of compensation for municipal employees have dimensions: salaries and wages with the components of job rights, employee rights, super management, individual characteristics, and benefits with the components of managerial benefits, legal benefits, and organizational benefits.
