The effect of sports olympiads on social vitality, commitment and organizational behavior of university employees

Abstract

This article was conducted in order to investigate and evaluate the impact of sports-focused competitions on social vitality, the level of commitment and the quality of organizational behavior of employees in the context of organizational duties in Technical and Vocational University of Iran. Based on this, the research method was chosen in a mixed and survey type, to collect data from the semi-structured deep interview tool - which reached a saturation state after conducting 19 interviews - and the design of two researcher-made questionnaires. Likert scale based on 51 measures based on targeted and partial questions was also used in an open-ended manner. In the analysis of the research data, the method of structural equations with analysis in Smart PLS2 software was used. The statistical population of this research included 440 participants in the 11th Sports Olympiad of Technical and Vocational University employees and professors, using Cochran's formula and 5% error level, 205 people were selected as a sample. The findings indicate that, from a social point of view, cheerfulness as a conceptual framework in the field of sports participation is one of the effective drivers in the continuation of commitment and corresponds to the promotion of organizational behavior. Also, there is a significant relationship between participation in focused sports activities with a regular sequence (following sports participation) with social vitality and organizational commitment.
